Les Halles - The New Heart of Paris

Les Halles has a long history. It used to be a wholesale food market called the Belly of Paris. However, modern time move this venue outside of Paris and created the New Les Halles, that appeared in the 80s. It was a nice glass structure with shops, gardens and open spaces.

Now, it’s moving on again and the new meadow-like gardens, a larger pedestrian district, better regional train station, cultural facilities, a giant rainforest-inspired glass canopy and the subterranean modern shopping mall, Forum des Halles is taking place.  The canopy completion is set for 2016. For details, see www.parisleshalles.fr.

Les Halles is destined to become the heart of a great metropolis, reflecting the vibrancy and excitement
of the French capital – the Paris of tomorrow. Website: www.parisleshalles.fr
