Classic, timeless, wonderful romantic comedy.

A Good Year

Comedy based on Peter Mayle's best-selling novel about a London-based investment banker who relocates to Provence in hopes of selling a small vineyard he has inherited from his recently-deceased uncle. As a child, Max Skinner (Freddie Highmore) was taught to appreciate the finer things in life while wandering the vineyard estate of his uncle Henry (Albert Finney). 25 years later Max (Russell Crowe) is now a successful businessman and when he learns that Henry has recently passed away and he has been named the sole beneficiary of his late uncle's estate, Max hastily arranges a flight to France in order to assess the value of the old property and get it prepped for sale. However, Max arrives in Provence to discover the vineyard in a crumbling state of disrepair, and his troubles are further compounded by the stubbornness of a gruff estate winemaker M. Duflot (Didier Bourdon) and the unexpected arrival of a determined Californian woman named Christie (Abbie Cornish) who presents herself as a long-lost cousin while making a dubious claim to Henry's estate.

A feel-good movie that highlights the beauty of France and make one want to "be there".

Midnight in Paris

Paris is a city that lends itself to daydreaming, to walking the streets and imagining all sorts of magic, a quality that Woody Allen understands perfectly. Midnight in Paris is Allen's charming reverie about walking the streets and imagining all sorts of magic. The screenwriter hero named Gil (Owen Wilson) strolls the lanes of Paris with his head in the clouds and walks right into his own best fantasy. He is there with his materialistic fiancée (Rachel McAdams) and her unpleasant parents, taking a break from his financially rewarding but spiritually unfulfilling Hollywood career.

All he wants is to quit the movies, move to Paris, and write that novel he's been meaning to finish.

A midnight encounter draws him into the jazzy world of Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Picasso, Dali, Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein who offers to review his script.

Woody Allen’s beautiful fantasy based around the idea of living in 'The Golden Age', and learning to live in the present, while looking back at the past - wittily written, perfectly paced and should be on anyones list before they visit Paris.

THE DA VINCI CODE

Dan Brown's international bestseller comes alive in the film ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ directed by Ron Howard with a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman. Join symbolist Robert Langdon (Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks, 1993 Best Actor for ‘Philadelphia’ and 1994 Best Actor for ‘Forrest Gump’) and cryptologist Sophie Neveu [Audrey Tautou].I

Their heart-racing quest to solve a bizarre murder mystery will take them from France to England and behind the veil of a mysterious ancient society, where they’ll discover a secret protected since the time of Christ.

With first-rate performances by Sir Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina and Jean Reno. Critics are calling ‘The Da Vinci Code’ "involving," "intriguing," and "a first rate thriller."

Charade

Hollywood legends Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn light up the screen in the stylish thriller Charade.   Regina (Hepburn) finds herself pursued through the streets of Paris by several men in search of the fortune that her murdered husband stole from them.

As her world becomes entangled with suspense, murder and plots twists, she finds herself leaning on a suave, charming stranger (Grant) whose motives are unclear.

Beautifully directed by Stanley Donen and co-starring James Coburn, George Kennedy and Walter Matthau, this timeless classic will keep you guessing until the very end.  Expect the unexpected!

How to steal a million

Audrey Hepburn is a cute burglar in this movie. She hires Peter O'Tool to help her not knowing that he is actually a detective. Hugh Griffith plays her father who makes a living making replicas of famous pieces of art.

One of his pieces gets put on display at a museum to his daughter has to hatch a plan to steal it before an art expert evaluates the piece for a million dollar insurance policy.

This movie is quite funny and has the usual romance angle, and the trio of actors just makes it fun.

Funny Face

Hollywood classic not to be missed, even if you don’t visit Paris.

Music by the Gershwins, costumes by Edith Head and Hubert de Givenchy, choreography by Fred Astaire, direction by Stanley Donen, luminescence by Audrey Hepburn- what's not to love about "Funny Face"?

This Blu-ray import from the UK is truly wonderful and its content from the last great decade of American studio musicals is truly marvelous.

An American in Paris

Another classic from Hollywood that stands the test of time and is suitable for very generation.

Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron sing and dance to the music of George and Ira Gershwin in this winner of six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

When ex-GI Jerry Mulligan (Kelly) remains in Paris to pursue life as an artist, he is discovered by a wealthy patroness interested in more than his art. But Mulligan falls in love with a French shop girl (Caron) who is engaged to his best friend.

Coco Chanel

Shirley MacLaine (Actor), DVD

Of the on screen biographies of Coco Chanel's life, I think this one is my favorite. It does an excellent job of hitting the most important points of Chanel's life and centers in on her relationship with the love of her life, Boy Capel.

I especially liked learning about where Chanel got her ideas for her designs. If you have an interest in Chanel's life and her fashion designs, I think you will like this movie

Shirley McLane as Coco but was pleasant surprised - she nailed the role.
