Paris offers a large range of fashion stores. The demand for quality clothing stores is easy to understand given the nature of Parisians, who are connoisseurs, demanding and elegant by nature as far as fashion is concerned.
Here is what you’ll find in a different areas of Paris:
1ere west- 2eme - 8eme east - 9eme.
Starting at the northern end of the area, Boulevard Haussman is home to the two best stocked department stores in the city: Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. Moving down Boulevard des Capucines you will come to Place Vendôme, the location of the famous Hotel Ritz and some of the biggest names in fashion and jewelry in the world, including Cartier, Bulgari, Chanel, Tiffany’s, Dior, Van Cleef & Arpels, Rolex, Montblanc and many more.
Further down you reach Rue St Honoré that has some of the most prestigious fashion brands, including Christian Lacroix, Escada, Gucci, John Galliano, Alberta Ferretti and Valentino. Another street, famous for the fashion brands is the Rue Faubourg St Honoré with the selection of stores by the best designers Missoni, Hermés, Chloé, Valentino, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent among many others.
Head south and you’ll reach Rue de Rivoli, Palais Royal & Place des Victoires, a heaven for shoppers where you’ll find elegant and trendy shops.
You can start your shopping from across the Tuilleries garden or Louvre museum and continue all the way to the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville where you’ll find BHV – one of the biggest department stores in Paris for fashion and home décor.
Head north from Rue de Rivoli to find one of the biggest shopping malls in Paris - Forum des Halles
This huge underground shopping center is great for finding the latest fashions all under one roof. You’ll find Kookaï, Benetton, Zara, Naf-Naf, Promod, Princesse Tam Tam, Mango, Sephora, Etam, H&M, Manfield, Darjeeling, Celio, André, Esprit, Du Pareil au Même, Pimkie, Quicksilver, L’Occitane and many more.
1ere east
Rue Etienne Marcel has shops like Yohji Yamamoto, Anne Fontaine, Diesel and Paul & Joe and multi-brand stores such as Kabuki.
3eme - 4eme
The Marais district has become the cutting edge of the city in recent years, and as such has attracted many stores that reflect the very latest trends in fashion.
Place des Vosges has a store by Issey Miyake. Rue des Rosiers has Custo Barcelona and Pleats Please. Barbara Bui is located on Rue des Francs Bourgeois.
8eme west
The heart of the European luxury fashion business lies without doubt in the triangle formed by Avenue Montaigne, Avenue des Champs Elysées and Avenue Georges V.
Beginning in Avenue Montaigne, the list of brand names is unbeatable: Bottega Veneta, Marni, Chloé, Chanel, Dior , Dolce & Gabbana, Escada, Giorgio Armani, Ungaro, Pucci, Gianfranco Ferré, Gucci, Krizia, Loewe, Akris, Loro Piana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Nina Ricci, Jimmy Choo, Prada and many more.
6eme - 7eme
This area on the Left bank, features many beautiful streets and an exquisite selection of clothing stores. Boulevard Saint Germain hosts Emporio Armani, Custo Barcelona, Façonnable, Hugo Boss, Sonia Rykiel and Etro.
Rue de Grenelle is home to YSL, Moschino, Prada, Miu Miu, and the Sergio Rossi shoe shop. In Rue des Saints Péres, you can find Barbara Bui and Paul & Joe. Shoes and handbags by Tod's can be found on Rue du Dragon. Rue de Rennes boasts stores by French classic Celine and British brand Burberry.
