Vaux-Le-Vicompte Castle

Day trip from Paris

Every year during the sunny days, Vaux le Vicomte open its estate for all the visitors looking for the beauty of nature, landscape, and exceptional architecture. As evening falls on Saturdays between 7th May and 8th October, 2011, over 2,000 candles are lit throughout the château and gardens. This festival of light is complemented by classical music in the gardens, designed by Le Nôtre.

Stretched out in a deckchair, visitors can allow themselves to be transported back in time by this magical illumination to a memorable page of history. The evenings end with magnificent firework.

Vaux le Vicomte is a special place for children with many activities organized for them (Easter egg hunts, riddles, treasure hunts, and special costume visits). In order to experience life at the King’s Court and discover the history of the castle, children can visit its state rooms and formal reception halls, dressed as Princes, Princesses and Musketeers. Costumes available for hire on weekends, bank holidays and during school vacations.
