Perfect day at COURS SALEYA

Built on the ramparts dismantled in the early 18th century, Cours Saleya is a pedestrian area in the heart of Old Nice that offers picturesque alleys, art galleries, restaurants and markets.

The flower and vegetable markets are held every day except Monday, when they are replaced by an antiques market. It is a feast for the eyes and a delight for the taste buds.

DON’T MISS : MARCHÉ ARTISANAL NOCTURNE (An evening craft market) at Cours Saleya. It is held every evening in summer (from mid-May to mid-September) from 6 pm to midnight.

MARCHÉ A LA BROCANTE SALEYA - Lovers of old furniture and knick-knacks as well as lovers of curios  should visit this secondhand market that takes place at the Cours Saleya on Mondays from 7.30 am to 6.00pm except on the day before a national holiday. It is also held at Place Garibaldi every 3rd Saturday in the month.

ALSO SPEND SOME TIME AT LA PLACE ROSSETTI - One of the most picturesque in Old Nice, La Place Rossetti offer ochre façades, fountains, flower-decked balconies, baroque cathedral and café terraces.

The “Castle Hill” was the site chosen by the Phocaean Greeks to set up their trading-post and thus found the City of Nice several thousand years ago. Castle Hill (Colline du Château) has preserved only a few foundations and fragments of walls, but this park and botanical garden offers unique panoramic views over Nice and its surroundings.

Continue to LA PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS  - Originally a footpath no more than 6 feet wide, it was widened by an Englishman, Reverend Lewis Way, at his expense in 1820 and today is one of the most famous seaside promenade decorated with palms and flowers.
