6. Hit one of the many beaches
Public Beaches - Public free beaches are also available in Cannes even at the Croisette. They are as clean as the private beaches but can be crowded in a season, less crowded at the end of September even on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
From one, near the Palais des Festivals at the east end on the side of a public garden you can have a view on all the Croisette, the bay of Cannes and the Lérins islands. Few more free beaches are situated west of the Vieux-Port at the Plage du Midi.
Private beaches - fine and clean sand, oriented to the South, nice views on the Lérins islands and because they are crowded the socializing is very good.
TIP: West of the Vieux-Port you will find a fine sandy beach called Plage du Midi, with a very nice view on the "Massif de l'Estérel". They are less expensive because they are less chic and away of the famous hotels of the centre of Cannes.
