Situated on France’s Cote d’Azur, Cannes, famous for the Cannes Film Festival in May has a lot to offer all year around.

The city is of glamorous stars posing on red carpets and the sweeping sandy beach of the bay, Cannes is a play-ground for the rich and famous as well as holiday makers from around the world. It offers fine restaurants, exquisite shopping, private and public beaches and much more.

Le Suquet, the old town centre is the most interesting part, where small wooden fishing boats still mingle with the enormous luxury yachts.

Walk up to the 11th century tower at the top of Rue Saint Antoine and you’ll have the spectacular views and restaurants.

From May until the end of October, average daily temperatures in Cannes stay above 20°C, peaking at around 27°C in July and August.  Yearly low temperatures remaining above 13°C - visit Cannes any time.


How to get to Cannes?

Cannes can be reached in many ways -choose between the plain, train, bus or your own car and you’ll have a perfect place to explore the rest of Cote d’Azure.


By Plane

The Nice Côte d'Azur International airport is the 2nd biggest French airport and is a perfecta gateway to the French Riviera.  It has two terminals : T1 and T2. There is a Free shuttle service between the two terminals.

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is located 24 km (15 mi) from Cannes.

The smaller Cannes – Mandelieu Airport is also nearby.

Cannes Express operate a regular door-2-door Airport Shuttle service between Nice Airport and hotels/accommodations in Cannes.  Price per seat is are from 20 Euros. Bus services  from the Airport to Nice.

By road

Cannes is well connected to all European cities by a major motorway network, in particular, the A8 motorway, 'La Provençale', running from Aix-en-Provence to the West as well as to the Italian border on the East.

By train

The national railway system provides rapid and express trains (TGV, corail) connecting the French Riviera with all parts of France and all major cities in Europe.

TGV rail services to the Gare de Cannes provide access from major French cities, including Nice, Marseille, Lyon, Paris and Toulouse. You can also reach Cannes from other cities with rail connections.  Brussels (6 hours), Milan (5 hours), Basel (10 hours), Rome (10 hours) and Venice (10 hours).


By Bus

Coach services arrive at the Gare Routière de Cannes, in the centre of the city, near the Town Hall.


Orientation

Between Cannes and Monaco there are four main east-west roads: The A8 toll road is the farthest north, indicated by a blue sign; the D2564 Grande Corniche starts east of Nice; the N7 is indicated by a green sign (called the Moyenne Corniche east of Nice); and the N98 Bord de Mer coastal road, or Basse Corniche, is indicated by a white sign. Stay close to the sea and it’s hard to get lost for long.
