The magical world is out there, for the whole family to enjoy. You can shop, dine, dance, watch the shows, cinema and much more in this enchanted land.
Disneyland Park is divided into five main areas, or “lands”, each with attractions, restaurants and shops on a particular theme.
Main Street USA - Disney souvenir and shopping area
TIP: Stop by the City Hall, and pick up a few copies of the park plan and the daily program. It provides information on opening hours, parades, shows and ride closures.
Must see - Disney Magic Parade
This daily parade isa series of floats, featuring characters and scenes from all the Disney favorites, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King as well as the newer characters from Disney films.
It takes place every day about an hour before closing time. Try to get a spot in advance on an outer curve, you’ll get a better view without people leaning out and blocking you. Disney Parade
Frontierland
Top attraction: Big Thunder Mountain
This is the Wild West land where you’ll find the Big Thunder Mountain, a tower of red rock with a roller coaster twisting around it. You can take a ride through Phantom Manor, enjoy the Mississippi paddle steamer and find the Pocahontas Indian Village, a nice little play area for smaller children.
Adventureland
Top attraction: Pirates of the Caribbean
Enjoy a six-minute cruise through the darkness with animated pirates invading a Spanish fortress.
You can also try the 360-degree looping roller-coaster or run around the Adventure Isle and Pirate’s Beach nice playgrounds with climbing equipment.
Fantasyland
Top attraction: Peter Pan’s Flight and It’s a Small World
Design specifically for younger children, with lots of charming but sedate rides, the Fantasy land is the place to see the Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, ride on the Peter Pan’s Flight and take the boat journey through the It’s a Small World ride.
Discoveryland
Top attraction: Space Mountain
Space Mountainis is an amazing high-speed roller-coaster ride that takes you onto an outer space i great for older kids. It was inspired by Jules Verne’s From the Earth to the Moon.
You can also watch the Captain EO, a short sci-fi film starring Michael Jackson, try the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, where you use the laser pistols to shoot down baddies and ‘drive’ a car in Autopia.
